RoofMetric vs JobNimbus

JobNimbus is a mature contractor CRM with a workflow engine and a large integration ecosystem. RoofMetric is a smaller, flat-priced platform whose main structural difference is that the measurement is part of the product. Here is the honest split.

The short version

JobNimbus is a customer and workflow platform. Its strength is what happens after the sale: job stages, automations, task routing, reporting and a long list of integrations built up over years. Measurement is not part of it, so you order reports from a third party and bring the numbers in.

RoofMetric measures the roof itself, from satellite or from an iPhone, and the measurement feeds the estimate directly. The CRM, estimating, e-signature and payments are in the same subscription, and the price is published rather than quoted.

On pricing. JobNimbus does not publish a full price list; pricing is quoted per seat and varies by user role, so what you pay depends on how many admins, sales reps and field users you have. RoofMetric publishes every tier: $29 a month for one user, $49 for up to five, $99 for up to ten and $199 for up to twenty. Check JobNimbus’s own pricing page for their current figures, and ours for ours. A competitor’s price quoted on someone else’s website goes stale the day they change it.

When RoofMetric is the better fit

Questions people actually ask

How do I switch from JobNimbus to another roofing platform?

Plainly: there is no one-click importer, and anyone who tells you migration is effortless is selling. What works is exporting your customer list to CSV and importing it, then running both systems for a few weeks. Put new jobs in the new system and let the open ones finish where they started. Job history, photo archives and custom automations do not transfer, so the realistic question is whether you need the history live or whether an export you can search is enough.

Is RoofMetric cheaper than JobNimbus?

For most small and mid-size contractors, yes, but the comparison is not a straight price match because the products are not the same shape. JobNimbus prices per seat by role and quotes on request. RoofMetric publishes $29 a month for one user up to $199 for twenty, and includes unlimited roof measurement, which on JobNimbus is a separate per-report cost from a third party. Add that report spend to their subscription when you compare.

Does JobNimbus measure roofs?

No. It is a CRM and workflow platform, so measurements come from a service like EagleView or HOVER and get entered or imported. That is the structural difference between the two products: with RoofMetric the measurement is the thing that starts the estimate, so there is no ordering step and no waiting.

What does JobNimbus do better?

Workflow automation and integrations, and it is not close. If your business runs on rules that move work between people automatically, theirs is deeper. They also integrate with QuickBooks and we do not, which for some contractors is the whole decision.

Can I keep my JobNimbus data if I leave?

Export your customers and jobs before you cancel, not after. That is true of any platform including ours. Ask for a full data export in a readable format and check what you actually receive before you close the account.

The rest of the job, not just the measurement

Comparing us with JobNimbus usually stops at measurement and price. Over a year the difference people actually feel is what happens between jobs: the call that comes in while you are on a roof, and the receipts that decide what the job really earned.

Front Desk: a business line that rings your phone

A real business phone number for your company, built in. Place and answer calls, keep a shared call log the whole team can see, and text customers from a number that is not your cell. Incoming calls ring your iPhone with the standard call screen, on the lock screen, whether the app is open or closed. Every paid plan includes a real business phone number, free, with 120 minutes a month. See how Front Desk works.

Tax Central: expenses, receipts and W-9s

Track business expenses by job and by Schedule C category, so profit per job is a number you can see rather than one you work out in January. Scan a receipt with your camera, and collect a signed W-9 from every subcontractor you pay.

Timeclock: clock in from the truck, approve from the office

Your crew clocks in and out from the app with a location stamp on every punch, logs breaks as they take them, and submits each shift for approval when it ends. Owners, admins and team leaders approve or correct time for the people under them, and approved hours export as a CSV for payroll. Included with Platinum and Enterprise at no charge. On every other paid plan it is a flat monthly add-on for the whole company, not per user, and trials can use it during the trial. See what each plan includes.

Front Desk, Tax Central and Timeclock, answered

Does RoofMetric include a business phone number?

Yes. Every paid plan includes a real business phone number at no extra cost, with 120 minutes a month. You pick your own local number in about thirty seconds. Calls and texts run from the app or a browser and always show the business number rather than a personal cell, and every call files itself against the customer it came from.

What does the AI receptionist actually do?

Turn on the AI receptionist and she answers when you cannot. She knows your services, your hours and your service area, books estimates straight onto your calendar, takes a message when the caller needs a person, and emails you the recording and a summary. Both sides are told the call is recorded, and recording can be switched off. It is optional: the business line works on its own with your team answering.

Do incoming calls ring the phone when the app is closed?

Yes, on iPhone. Front Desk calls ring with the standard iPhone call screen, on the lock screen, whether the app is open, in the background or closed, and appear in Recents like any other call. An Android build is in development with no release date announced.

Can I track expenses and 1099 paperwork in RoofMetric?

Yes, in Tax Central. Track business expenses by job and by Schedule C category, scan a receipt with your camera to fill in the vendor, amount and category, and collect a signed W-9 from every subcontractor you pay. Taxpayer numbers are encrypted and shown only as the last four digits.

Does RoofMetric have a timeclock for my crew?

Yes. Timeclock lets each person clock in and out from the app, pick the job they are on, and log breaks as they take them, with a location stamp on every punch. Shifts are submitted for approval when they end; owners and admins see everyone, team leaders see the people under them, and employees request corrections rather than editing the record. Approved hours export as a CSV for payroll. Included with Platinum and Enterprise at no charge. On every other paid plan it is a flat monthly add-on for the whole company, not per user, and trials can use it during the trial.
